We are constantly trying to educate couples about the difference between an on-site coordinator and a private coordinator…so here is another description of what each party does:
On-site coordinator or Banquet Captain:
Oversee the event set-up, wait staff and food service.
Check with the bride, mother of the bride or private wedding coordinator to assure satisfaction.
Confirm the timing of events, delivery of food, final guest count and final billing.
Private Wedding Coordinator for Day of Director Service (Full Service would include much more before the wedding day!) *
Assist with proper etiquette and protocol for invitations, family matters, ceremonies and toasts.
Create a timeline for your entire wedding day, including ceremony, reception and other wedding related events.
Order, deliver and arrange ceremony programs, placecards, centerpieces, favors, and any personal items.
Assist the bride and bridal party with dressing.
Collect and/or store personal items you may have brought with you until the conclusion of the day’s events.
Ensure that the bridal party has their bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres.
Be the liaison between your family, the wedding party, the DJ/band, photographer, florist and other vendors.
Provide wedding party and family with all pertinent schedules for wedding related events.
Be responsible for all personal items, such as cake knife, wine and champagne glasses and gifts, in advance of , during and after the event.
A private wedding planner is hired directly by the couple to work for the couple; to look after the couple’s best interest.
This list is from the Riviera Palm Springs Banquet packet…a seasoned venue knows the benefit of having a private wedding coordinator and does not say that they will handle everything. For more information about this property and other fabulous wedding venues contact us. Happy Wedding Planning!
