Make a Small Cake Stand Out

462Guests love the wedding cake…they are often looking for it in the room and taking pictures of it to show to others who were not at the wedding.  Wedding cakes can be creative and fun on their own, but they can also be classic and traditional.  Most often I hear that the bride wants the cake to be big and to stand out.  Pictured is a 2 tier cake from Freeport Bakery that will serve just 80 guests.  We placed the cake on a 36″ round, tall cocktail table.  This brings it to “eye level” for the guests, and with a smaller diameter table, the cake doesn’t get lost on the table.  We also used a 6″ tall silver cake stand, which actually give it the height of one additional layer.  Adding space between the layers and a cake topper will add even more height.   With a few “tricks” even a small cake can have a big presence.  Happy Wedding Planning!
