Real Wedding, Real Questions #2

I’m running into issues about getting addresses from a few family members.  Is it rude to send the Save the Dates out anyway?

Hi Sofia – It is fine to send Save the Dates out in stages…and sometimes you don’t ever send a Save the Date to a guest.  Save the Dates should only go to the guests on your “A” list and if there are some guests that you are unsure about or if you are limited on space, then don’t send Save the Dates to them until much closer to the wedding, if at all.  Once you send the Save the Date you are obliged to invite the guest to the wedding.  If your friends and family members hear about a Save the Date and they haven’t received one, they will be more likely to reach out to get you their address…so it may help you in gathering your addresses.

Happy Wedding Planning,

Kendra
